What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga designed
for your body.
Not the class.

Yoga therapy uses the tools of yoga (movement, breath, awareness, and relaxation) in a therapeutic, individualised way. Where a yoga class follows a set sequence for a group, yoga therapy starts with you: your health history, your body, your nervous system, and what it needs right now.

Zoe is a certified Yoga Therapist and Yoga & Pilates Instructor with experience working with people across a wide range of health conditions, life stages, and physical abilities. Post-treatment recovery, chronic pain, stress and burnout, or simply wanting to come back to yourself.

"Yoga therapy looks at your body, health and lifestyle as a whole, giving you a programme designed for you that you can follow and embrace."

Sessions are held online worldwide via Zoom or in person on the Sunshine Coast. First sessions are 90 minutes so we have time to map your body and goals. Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes. You leave with a personalised practice you can use between sessions.

Growth and restoration through yoga therapy
"Your body is always trying to find its way back to balance."
The difference

Yoga Therapy vs Group Yoga.

Understanding why one-on-one therapeutic yoga delivers something fundamentally different from a class.

Group yoga class

One-size-fits-all

  • Designed for the average participant
  • Fixed sequence regardless of individual needs
  • Limited ability to modify for injuries or conditions
  • No consideration of health history
  • Focus on performing postures correctly
  • Social environment, less space for personal attention

  • Adapted fully for injuries, chronic conditions, or recovery
  • Integrates breath work, nervous system support, and relaxation

What clients say

The difference it makes.

★★★★★
"I have been attending Zoe's classes both in small groups and one on one for over 2 years. Zoe has the ability to attend to your individual needs through therapy and yogalates. I particularly like the small group sessions as I was new to yoga at a 'mature' age. I highly recommend Every Body Yoga Therapy and Yogalates!"
Kathy M · Sunshine Coast, QLD
★★★★★
"After my first yoga therapy session with Zoe, I started to think in a more holistic way about my lifestyle, stress levels and managing my health. It wasn't just firefighting against one problem but looking at my body, health and lifestyle as a whole and giving me a programme, designed for me, that I could follow and embrace to empower me to be as fit and healthy mentally as well as physically."

Common questions

Yoga Therapy FAQ.

Do I need any yoga experience?

None at all. Yoga therapy is designed to meet you exactly where you are, regardless of flexibility, fitness, or familiarity with yoga. Many of Zoe's clients have never done yoga before. The session is built around your body, not around any expectation of what yoga looks like.

Is Yoga Therapy available online?

Yes. Yoga Therapy is available both online via Zoom (worldwide) and in person on the Sunshine Coast. Online sessions work surprisingly well: Zoe guides you through the practice in real time, observes your movement on screen, and adjusts as needed. Many clients work with her online from across Australia, the UK, the US, and beyond.

Why is the first session 90 minutes?

The first session includes a proper assessment of your body, health history, what you're working with, and what you'd like the practice to focus on. 90 minutes gives us time to map all of that without rushing, then move into actual practice. Subsequent sessions are 60 minutes.

Can it help if I'm recovering from illness or surgery?

Yes. Recovery support is one of the most common reasons people come to Yoga Therapy with Zoe. Sessions are adapted completely to where you are in your recovery, with careful attention to any restrictions or recommendations from your medical team. Always let Zoe know about any conditions or procedures when you book.

How does Yoga Therapy complement the other modalities?

They work beautifully together. Energy healing (Emotion Code, Body Code, Belief Code) addresses the emotional and energetic layers of what's held in the body. Holistic Counselling brings them into conscious understanding. Yoga therapy works through movement, breath, and awareness, bringing the body back into ease and integration. Many clients work with Zoe across multiple modalities.
